Cara Bunnell Bio
I am a teacher in the Mount Pleasant Home School Assistance Program (HSAP). I help coordinate activities, teach enrichment classes, and supervise families that choose to homeschool with the Mount Pleasant Community School District. It is a pleasure to work in this position because of the opportunity to work with children and parents!
I graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in elementary education with endorsements in reading and mathematics. Besides holding this position, my teaching career has included substitute teaching, working in the Mount Pleasant Christian School, and homeschooling.
I have worked in conjunction with the Home School Assistance Program and the Mount Pleasant Community School District for the last several years. I believe that my experiences homeschooling my children along with my experiences as a foster parent and as a volunteer in teen and children’s ministries over the last twenty years have helped equip me to provide support to families in a number of ways.
If you have any questions about homeschooling, I would be happy to talk with you!
If you would like to reach me, please call the district office at 319-385-7750 or email me at [email protected].
