Brenda Galvan Bio

I enjoy serving as a Supervising Teacher in the Homeschool Assistance Program (HSAP) with the Mt. Pleasant Community School District. Originally from Albia, Iowa, I moved to Southern California as a teenager and later returned to Iowa with my family in 2021, settling in Mt. Pleasant.

In 2020, our family began homeschooling, which deepened my passion for supporting home educators and led me to join the HSAP team. We immediately connected with the program and have found it to be an enriching and supportive community.

I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Business Management in 2005 and my Master’s degree in Elementary Education in 2008 from the University of Phoenix. I began my teaching career in 3rd grade and also gained experience as a substitute teacher before transitioning into other professional roles. Prior to returning to education, I worked in manufacturing with Oakley, Inc. in their custom eyewear line.

I am grateful for the opportunity to partner with HSAP families and to help students thrive through meaningful, personalized learning experiences.
